Manufacturing Ambassador Scholarship

Applications close 31st of October

Our world class GIBS MBA was designed for individuals who are committed to the development of the African manufacturing sector. We are acutely aware of the complex operating environment facing South African-based manufacturers and acknowledges that many deserving individuals are unable to pursue the GIBS MBA (manufacturing focus) due to financial constraints. In response to this challenge, TWIMS is honoured that we are able to fund up to 20 Manufacturing Ambassador scholarships annually for our 2022 intake. The scholarships will cover up to 70% of student tuition and global module expenses; and all residency costs at TWIMS during block release and exam periods.

Lean Supply Chain Management

26th -29th October

The UK has been plagued by far reaching supply chain disruptions across virtually every sector, with some calling it an economic crisis. They are not alone. As we emerge from the pandemic at different rates, supply chain disruptions are on the mind of every manufacturing leader.

In the new normal how do we ensure a lean and functioning supply chain capable of withstanding shocks? Join Khavitha Singh, Toyota Head of Lean Management at TWIMS, as she explores the global value stream within which firms operate and uses real-world examples of how leading firms within complex value streams have successfully supported lean development within their supply and customer bases – for mutual competitiveness benefit.

Manufacturing is our passion:
Is it yours?

TWIMS provides structured programmes with the aim of developing Africa’s manufacturing leaders.

We provide formal academic courses through our partnership with GIBS, as well as a range of non-academic short courses.

“The creation of a deep manufacturing culture (“monozukuri” – meaning making things in Japanese) has contributed to the development of Asian economies such as Japan, Thailand and Korea. I believe we need to start building a similarly deep culture of manufacturing in Africa. The development of this culture can transform African society. Africa needs highly skilled engineers and production managers that can lead and manage complex manufacturing businesses.”
