Short course are back

It’s official, the TWIMS team is back on campus and ready to welcome our first short course students to the campus. Not only are we finally ready to run the Future of Manufacturing and Green Manufacturing short courses, these courses will be offered both in person on our campus and live online simultaneously!

Every success story is a tale of constant adaption, revision and change

Executive Development Programme

As mentioned above we are now ready to host our students on campus for our 3 day short courses. However, we understand that travel is not possible for some of our community; we will therefore stream our courses online simultaneously. Both online and in person students will get an opportunity to discuss topics, ask questions and engage with the lecturer.

Future of Manufacturing
18th-20th August

The Future of Manufacturing course focuses on applying a range of strategic tools to interrogate and engage with potentially highly disruptive market, social and technology forces that are re-framing the manufacturing sector’s development trajectory. Over the course of the three days we explore the rapid rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial IoT, and the use of “big data” that will have major disruptive consequences for manufacturing and try answer some important questions. Are new business models likely to emerge? Is South African manufacturing closeted from these developments, or will changes occur domestically in the same manner as being observed internationally?

Green Manufacturing
25th- 27th August

Climate change continues to be one of the biggest threats to humanity. As legislation moves to force companies to go green it is no longer a matter of if you will change but when you will have to change. The Green Manufacturing Executive Short Course considers the pertinent issues surrounding the green economy debate and why they are critical to the manufacturing sector. The course focuses on the different green discourses potentially shaping the development trajectory of manufacturing, while also providing an analysis of the key interventions and strategies that are relevant to green manufacturing.

The Manufacturing MBA

The GIBS Manufacturing MBA is as unique as it is valuable. This specialised masters programme combines the world renowned business acumen of GIBS and the manufacturing expertise of TWIMS. This is a global qualification for a business leader in Africa.

Prof. Justin Barnes will be hosting an online open evening on the 19th of August from 6pm – 7pm. This is your opportunity to ask questions about the MBA, TWIMS, GIBS and our scholarship programme. Join Prof. Barnes by registering below.
