Getting value from the hype of AI
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is dominating technical news reporting: from reported improvements in medical diagnoses, automated trading, right through to improved process control. Modern executives increasingly need to discern the correct technology to add to their collection in order to improve their businesses. This talk aimed to share a simple framework to extract value from this technology and some exciting results from recent machine learning discoveries.
About the Presenter
Dr. Michael D. Grant is an Electrical Engineer with a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is the youngest recipient of the Keith Plowden Young Achievers Award—for the most outstanding electrical engineer (2011). 2012 winner of the International Electrotechnical Commission’s Young Professional award for South Africa. Michael is currently the Chief Technology Officer for DataProphet—delivering machine learning solutions into manufacturers globally—named the World Economic Forum’s technology pioneer for 2019.
